Professional Requirements

The Government of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý has been working collaboratively with health and post-secondary partners to shorten the training and licensing pathway to allow for a quicker entry of internationally trained nurses into the labour market.

Before Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) can work in ±¦ÍþÌåÓý as licensed nurses, they must meet professional requirements as determined by the regulators. In ±¦ÍþÌåÓý, to learn more about licensure please contact the regulators.

Currently, the majority of IENs who are looking to become an RN are required to take some degree of additional training before licensure. In ±¦ÍþÌåÓý, this is done through the Registered Nursing Bridging Program for IENs delivered by ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Polytechnic.
