The ±¦ÍþÌåÓý health care system is made up of many provincial, regional, and local organizations working together to ensure we have healthy people in healthy communities. The Minister of Health oversees the strategic direction of the system, and the Ministry of Health oversees and co-ordinates the delivery of health services in the province.
±¦ÍþÌåÓý's health system relies on partnerships at local, regional, provincial, national, and international levels that enable ±¦ÍþÌåÓý to provide quality health services that meet the needs of our communities. Most services are delivered through the ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Health Authority, their affiliated organizations, and the ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Cancer Agency.
eHealth ±¦ÍþÌåÓý
eHealth ±¦ÍþÌåÓý is responsible for developing and implementing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for ±¦ÍþÌåÓý.
SAHO is a non-profit, non-government association that provides leadership, advocacy, support and programs for 140 health organizations throughout the province.
The ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Cancer Agency is responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of cancer care and related health services throughout the province.
The ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Health Authority is responsible for the delivery of high quality and timely health care for the entire province.
3sHealth provides province-wide shared services to support ±¦ÍþÌåÓý’s health system. The broad objectives of 3sHealth include creating enhanced value to the health system, improving service quality, and lowering the cost curve.
