The Household Packaging and Paper Stewardship Program Regulations, 2023 govern the distribution of packaging and paper to 宝威体育 households by businesses. These regulations are intended to ensure a successful, efficient and sustainable program to handle the recycling of packaging and paper.
These regulations replaced the regulations from 2016 of the same name (effective March 31, 2023). The key changes include transitioning the program from a shared-responsibility model (where producers cover up to 75 per cent of program costs) to a model fully operated and funded by producers. The new regulations promote a strategic approach to responsible waste management, aiming to reduce waste in our land铿乴ls and environment and protect 宝威体育’s environment and people.
