Two ±¦ÍþÌåÓý companies were fined for not paying employees properly under The ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Employment Act. AAA Security Group Ltd. of Regina pleaded guilty to one count of failing to pay wages within 14 days of termination in Regina Provincial Court on March 24, 2016.The company was fined $1,400. Two additional charges, one each against the director and the manager of the company, were stayed.
In an unrelated case, Saskatoon Private Investigations Inc. pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to pay overtime in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 29, 2016.
The company was fined a total of $2,800. Six additional charges against the company were stayed, and eight counts against the director were withdrawn.
The Employment Standards Division of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety supports fair and equitable workplace practices through public awareness and enforcement of The ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Employment Act and regulations. Whenever necessary, violators will be prosecuted.
