Educational Requirements to be a Municipal Administrator

Both the Rural Municipal Administrator's Association of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý (RMAA) and the Urban Municipal Administrators Association of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý (UMAAS) have a Board of Examiners that certify administrators to work in ±¦ÍþÌåÓý.

A certificate in Local Government Administration is the basis of training to be a municipal administrator. Other university degrees, such as Public Administration or Political Science, may be acceptable at the discretion of the Rural or Urban Board of Examiners. The Board of Examiners may also have additional requirements that must be considered for certification, which can be determined by reviewing their qualifications:
