The Ministry of Social Services supports vulnerable people and families as they build a better quality of life.
We help people with their immediate needs and provide supports for: families to safely care for their children, children and youth in care to be successful, people with disabilities to access community-based services, access to affordable housing, and income assistance to meet people’s basic needs as they work to become self-sufficient to the best of their abilities.
Together with Indigenous and community partners, we work to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients every day.

Adoption Services

Child Protection
Have reason to believe a child is being abused? You are required by law to report suspected cases of neglect or abuse. Learn how to report information.
Community Living Service Delivery
Ensure physical, emotional and social needs are met, and that people with intellectual disabilities live and function as independently as possible within their own communities.
Financial Assistance Programs

Apply for financial assistance if you live in a personal care home or supplement your income with the Seniors Income Plan.
Services to Youth
Are you a 16- or 17-year-old in need of assistance? The Ministry of Social Services can provide assistance if you cannot return to live with your family for reasons of safety or due to other extenuating circumstances.
