Scott Moe was first elected to the ±¦ÍþÌåÓý legislature in the 2011 provincial election in the constituency of Rosthern Shellbrook. He was re-elected in 2016. He was elected Leader of the ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Party on January 27, 2018, and sworn in as Premier of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý on February 2, 2018.
Premier Moe was born and raised on a grain farm between Shellbrook and Parkside. He and his wife Krista currently reside nearby in Shellbrook. He was educated at the University of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
He has previously served as Minister of Environment, Minister of Advanced Education, Minister responsible for ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Water Corporation, and Minister responsible for ±¦ÍþÌåÓý Water Security Agency.
Premier Moe's priorities include a focus on increasing ±¦ÍþÌåÓý's exports to create opportunities for people and further grow ±¦ÍþÌåÓý's economy. To this end, he created the Ministry of Trade and Export Development with a mandate to sustain and develop relationships with ±¦ÍþÌåÓý's current export customers and place an increased emphasis on diversifying our markets worldwide.
He has made it a priority to engage with current and prospective trading partners around the world to advocate for ±¦ÍþÌåÓý's export industries. ±¦ÍþÌåÓý supplies much-needed goods and commodities such as food, fuel and fertilizer to over 150 countries.
Premier Moe is also committed to advancing the economic interests of ±¦ÍþÌåÓý through strengthening ±¦ÍþÌåÓý's high-quality agricultural, mining, manufacturing, and energy industries that meet the needs of growing markets around the globe with world-leading efficiency and sustainability.
